This course is a 12-week structured training model designed to strengthen the capacities of youth living in conflict-affected contexts in Myanmar. It focuses on developing practical competencies in peacebuilding, communication, leadership, emotional awareness, and safe community engagement, enabling participants to engage constructively within their communities.
Each weekly session consists of four structured learning hours, combining:
-
Academic instruction delivered by a lead trainer
-
In-person facilitation by local facilitators
-
Participatory and experiential learning activities
-
Guided reflection and behavioural reinforcement
The trainer manual is informed by well-established educational and peacebuilding frameworks, including Experiential Learning Theory, Positive Youth Development, Conflict Transformation, Do No Harm principles, Social Identity Theory, and Trauma-Informed Approaches. These frameworks guide the learning process to ensure it is learner-centred, conflict-sensitive, ethically facilitated, and contextually relevant.
Overall, the course ensures consistency, integrity, safeguarding, and responsible facilitation, while supporting youth to build both individual resilience and collective peacebuilding capacities.
